The star system in inter_linked is made up of numerous planets and moons, including:

Terrain: Rocky sand
Size: Mesoplanet

Small and near to the twin suns, Meri is an uninhabitable, rocky desert.
Its surface is littered with solar panels that gather energy for the rest of the system.

Terrain: Grassy, dry supercontinents
Size: Giant planet
Population: 500 million

Vesta has no true oceans to speak of, its massive landmasses cut only with wide rivers and smaller seas.

This, of course, makes it the perfect center for agriculture in the system, and it’s where most of the food is grown.

In addition, it also a hub for music-making, especially in cities on the water.

Moon of Vesta

Terrain: Swampy and wet
Population: 600,000

Virtually the opposite of its planet, Yamaya is humid, hot, and swampy with huge swaths of bog and dotted with sparse few islands.

The moon is well-known for its unique fruits and vegetables that can only grow in its wet climate as well as its logging industry. Yamaya is the only place where pepperwood which is both a source of lumber and spice from its bark.

Terrain: Massive oceans with small islands
Size: Super-Mesoplanet
Population: 450 million

The “Ocean Planet”, Camenae is not just a center for fishing, high-quality wines, and delicious food, but it is also a major cultural hub. Most major cities participate in the Carnival Season where parties, theater, and art festivals reign supreme for upwards of three months of the year.

Many famous artists have been inspired by the beauty of the planet’s oceans and it is in turn a very popular vacation spot for the opulant and decadent.

Moon of Camenae

Terrain: Temperate continents
Population: 100 million

The “Flower Moon”, Khnoris’s relatively temperate climate and moderate rainfall makes it the ideal planet for growing things like apples, berries, and flowers.

Most population centers are cozy villages and small, sleepy cities like the Campanula, the one that Anny calls home.

Lunette City

Space Station City Orbiting Camenae

Population: 50 million

The capital city of the system’s Central Government, Lunette is an artificial space station that hangs in between Camenae’s moons.

While the station is an orb that contains a breathable atmosphere, the city only occupies a small curve of it, giving the appearance of a crescent moon when seen from space.

Moon of Camenae

Terrain: Sandy desert of crimson iron deposits
Population: 35 million

Sparsely populated, Tatenen has a unique culture of stubborn, self-sufficient people with little regard for Central Government politics or policy.

The moon is also well-known for its beautiful canyons with unusual rock formations.

Terrain: Gas giant
Size: Mini-Neptune

Ennead is a relatively small gas giant that swirls with orange and pink clouds and a system of six perpetual storms spinning at its heart.

The planet is surrounded in part by a massive rail that guides gravity-assisted launches of the space train – virtually the only way to escape the planet’s gravity well.

Moon of Ennead

Terrain: Sandy desert
Population: 30 million

Mostly composed of warm deserts dotted with cool oases, Tyche is a popular place for vacations and it is home to many resorts.

Surrounding the planet is an artificial ring that is a massive casino – and a city in itself where people from all over the system to gamble or see a show.

Moon of Ennead

Terrain: Earth-like with a rainy climate
Population: 40 million

Ilmator, “The Dark Moon” is perpetually shrouded in dark clouds that almost always drench the world below in rain.

The rich and powerful live in domes, shielded from the elements in their glistening cities while the poor gather in ramshackle, waterlogged slums.

Moon of Ennead

Terrain: Rocky and cold
Population: 5,000

A moon rich with mineral abundance and low on atmosphere, Caishen is the site of many mining operations despite its frigid climate.

Moon of Ennead

Terrain: Rocky, mountainous with steep cliffs
Population: 27 million

Cold, rocky, and dangerous, Kione is a massive tundra populated only with a few tiny villages on the peaks of the cliffs and research teams like the one Anny’s mother leads.

Terrain: “Ice ball”
Size: Mesoplanet
Population: 3 million (incl. prisoners)

Icy cold and barely habitable, Themis is used mostly as a prison colony for the worst offenders of Central Government law.

It is also often used for storage as the freezing temperatures prevent any kind of corrosion or decay.

Moon of Themis

Terrain: Icy and rocky
Population: 200,000

Thanks to its icy climate, Hathor is where construction of many computer parts, androids, and AI are manufactured here – often by prisoners of Themis looking to reduce their sentences.

The Twin Suns: Titania and Morgane

Titania, A-Type Main Sequence
Morgane, G-Type Main Sequence

Titania and Morgane, the two suns of the system, orbit each other in a figure-eight. Because of Titania’s high Potassium content, it is close to periwinkle in color, while Morgane is a lemon yellow.

The Space Stations

Hanging between the planets are 14 space stations of various shapes and sizes: the smallest is the size of a large house, the biggest is the size of a city block.

These are used for testing prototypes of things like androids that would be dangerous to keep too close to population centers.

Ships are also constructed in space via these stations where there’s room to build and scaffolding isn’t needed in zero gravity. Anny grew up on a station known for its speeder production.
